New Song

Wow, I wrote a song. Like seriously, with chords and everything. This is definitely a gift from God since I'm not at all musically talented. Haven't came up with a title yet, but here are the lyrics:

I come on my knees
I come on my knees again

Exhausted from fending off this world
The temptations have weakened all my will
Felt like I'm miles and miles from You
I'm lost in my sins and I can't fight through

You are Love, You are Life
I know this in my heart, Lord, but why can't I testify
To Your love, and Your life
To follow You with passion, to surrender and glorify

I come on my knees
I come on my knees again

Deliver me from the lion's den
Shelter my faith as I walk with You
Break me and turn my heart to gold
Purge away all my doubts within

n00b

My brother taught me that word, and here's the definition (from urbandictionary.com):

n00b - n.

1. A person who is new to a game.
2. A person who, regardless of experience, lacks the skill or competence to be competitive at a certain game
3. One who may talk trash, claiming to be an elite player, only to be beaten down by a better player, or will turn down any games when challenged by better players.

Let me introduce you to the newly minted n00b in town:

Tsuei, it's sad to see you in the lion's den, fending for yourself. But you'll be a better man if the wounds don't scar after this rite of passage. Learn from our mistakes, do what is right in the eyes of God, and don't be a bitch (you know what I'm talking about). I pray for you, and I believe in you.

Then again... this whole past month, and especially last week, has taught me that, if I'm going to play again, I'll be a n00b myself. It is frustrating... especially if I'm to do the right thing. I'm laying this down to you, Lord, please, please give me wisdom, and constraints to act upon it.

7 Days

The presentation came and went (could've done better but it was a joke anyway), and orientation for the incoming class came and went as well (always an exciting time right, Tim?) So, I'm left with 7 days before class starts again... I will use this time to find You (lots of confessing and reexamining to do).

Went to GA today... and I admit, I hate rollercoasters. Actually, I'm fine with the loops and the twists, but the drops scare the crap out of me. And I hate the slow ascents, when the "click click" sound preceeds the inevitable. But, I went on every ride that dirty, jin and dot went on, and although every single one of those pics that they took during the rides had me screaming my head off and holding on for dear life... it was fun. Especially "el toro", the newest wooden coaster there. All in all, good day... and I'm glad I made it alive.

Can't get this song out of my mind just now... don't know why, maybe God's speaking?

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light

Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son
Thou in my dwelling, and I with Thee one

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise
Thou mine inheritance, now and always
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art

High King of heaven, my victory won
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's Sun
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall
Still be my Vision, O ruler of all

Be Thou my shield, and my sword for the fight
Be Thou my dignity, be Thou my might
Thou my soul's shelter, and Thou my high tow'r
Riase Thou me heav'nward, O Pow'r of my pow'r

Pika and Jars

Lots happened over the past few days. Let's work backwards.

Today

Finally finished my presentation and paper... what a relief. Stayed in school till 9 the past two days and brought work home with me too... it sucked. But I'm real thankful that it's done. Now I just need to present it friday... let's hope I don't sound like the fool that I am.

Tuesday

Pika!

10th year anniversary of pokemon at bryant park (right outside my school). There were kids running around with their parents non-stop from 10 to 5. Can't believe it's 10 years already... I still have the red and the yellow cartridge from high school.

Sunday

Monday was all work, but sunday... b.lee, james, laura, mary and I went to see jars of clay at b.b.king (on 42nd). The place was small and there wern't too many people so we were right up next to the stage... I've never been THIS close before:

The guy that opened for them, christopher williams, was awesome. His lyrics are so honest, and he's mad good on the guitar. Check out his website.

Laura and b.lee took the playlist from jars afterwards.

Saturday

Annual rafting trip with CT elmhurst... unlike last year where we were practically rowing on a lake, this year we actually saw some rapids. My raft just owned the river. My raft had great chemistry... dot, shurono, cpan and xlan powered the engine while ko and I alternated between steering and attacking with buckets. We were like pirates looting left and right... people, buckets, paddles. It was a GREAT time... I would've posted pictures but the river took xian's camera... sorry man... I think it's time to check out the latest digital offerings.

Kenka

Had a blast chillin' with chun, baba, tsuei, scruff and jojo at kenka - japanese place on st. marks with 8 dollar pitchers... thanks for coming out guys. I've decided we're doing this city dinner thing every other week - it's mad chills to just eat and catch up. If you work in the city, or want to come out, email me and I'll put you on the mailing list.

Well, I was going to pass out when I got home, but today's e's birthday and she wanted to play pong so ko and I stopped by a bit and...

Trick shot.

Happy bday, e, I hope you find a place where you can call home.

Also, yesterday we went out to cheesecake factory for shortie's birthday (which was also today)...

Tsuei with katie.

Kayla picking her nose.

What's wrong with me? Can't stop flipping people off yesterday...

Group shot. Birthday girl on the left...

...and birthday girl got peed on. I heard it brings good luck :-)
